How to collect your 20 free 3DS games

You need to sign on to the eShop with your 3DS before the Aug. 12 price drop kicks in. No Internet? Sorry, you may be out of luck. Once you do, or if you already have, then your system is signed up for the program. I say your system, because the program is tied to the device, not the user. If you were, for instance, to have registered the 3DS and then sold it, you've also essentially sold those 20 free games to whoever buys that system from you.

Now about those games. The release says that those free games will include 10 NES Virtual Console titles, which will later go on sale, and 10 Game Boy Advance Virtual Console games, which won't.

Here is Nintendos official web address to access information about the Ambassador program and free eshop games.     http://www.nintendolife.com/news/2011/07/faq_nintendo_ambassador_program_and_free_eshop_games

curent 3DS owners get 20 free games

So I found this article this morning reguarding the 3DS price drop.
The Nintendo 3DS is dropping $80 – from $249 to $169 – on August 12 in preparation for the launch of the console’s E3 A-List titles including Kid Icarus. This cut is also, presumably, in reaction to slow initial sales of the 3D console.
Current owners of the console will receive ten free NES games along with ten free Game Boy Advance titles on September 1st (provided they’ve logged into the Nintendo eShop before August 12.

3DS Price Drop

So I was checking out the DS news today and I came across this article today.

Nintendo Stumbles With 3DS: If you were one of the (relatively few) people who bought a Nintendo 3Ds in the first months after its ballyhooed release, you might be upset to learn that you could have paid much less if you had just waited a few months.

Faced with unexpectedly low sales, Nintendo slashed the price of the handheld device to $170, from $250. Nintendo also cut its profit forecast for the year by a whopping 80%. Investors, understandably, are alarmed.

The Wall Street Journal’s Nick Wingfield says Nintendo’s troubles stem from Apple’s successes. The rise in smartphones and tablets means more people are buying Angry Birds for $1 or so than spending money on Nintendo’s more expensive games.

So I immediately checked on Amazon and you can purchase the 3DS for 169.99 there.
Bummer for me because I purchased 1for me and 1 for my son on the release date.

Welcome

Hello from Phoenix, Arizona. My name is Suzy. I have been intrigued by video games since I was in my mid-twenties when the original Gameboy came out. I immediately was hooked on Tetris, and twenty years later I am still hooked by video games. I have a Wii, Game Boy Advance SP, Nintendo NES, a Nintendo 64, DSi, 3DS, a house full of games and ROM cards (for backup purposes only).

My husband and 14-year-old son are almost as addicted to games as I am. It’s actually an activity that the family can share.

I have spent hours and hours on the internet surfing for information and news blogs regarding the DS and the 3DS. I want to be the first to know release dates for the new games. I am eager to learn opinions from those who play the games.

That is what my blog is about. I want to know what game systems do you own? What are your favorite games? Why are they your favorites? I want you to post on this blog… let me know your secrets to winning games. Let’s all share our information and become the gamers we dream of being.

Let me know what subject you would like to have a forum about. I’m looking forward to hearing from gamers all over the world!
